Description

Description

Project objective: In the project, an optimised charging management for electric buses in the public transport of the Lake Constance area is being developed. Optimal charging curves are created from the determined parameters of the technical infrastructure as well as from current system information. Sustainable, cost-effective and flexible charging management is intended to support the transformation of the still fossil-powered public transport into climate-friendly e-mobility. At the same time, cross-border knowledge transfer should be promoted. Description: In public transport, many diesel buses are to be replaced by electric buses. However, the large-scale operation of e-bus fleets is still untested. The project collects measurement data and IT framework conditions of the charging infrastructure as well as experiences and needs in Lake Constance to develop optimised charging management. An optimisation model generates control signals for the electric buses and the charging infrastructure based on current timetable, weather and energy grid information.
