Description | The Floating Ammonia Cracker Unit (FACU) is a vessel equipped with technology to thermally decompose ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen, enabling direct hydrogen supply from offshore to onshore. It aims to accelerate the use of hydrogen energy as part of global decarbonization efforts. The conceptual design, including process layout and general arrangement, has been finalized by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR) collaborated on the ammonia cracking process and module design, and Amogy provided a new catalyst solution. |
