Description | The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority is undertaking a critical project to replace the mainline pipes that serve as the conduit for drinking water across the 120-mile chain of islands in the Florida Keys. The existing pipes have exceeded their lifespan, leading to multiple breaks and widespread outages. The project includes the replacement of transmission lines with new, cathodically protected 36-inch steel pipes, including underwater installations at Tea Table Relief and Whale Harbor bridge crossings to protect against high winds and storm surge. |
