The proposed project consists of sidewalk and streetscape improvements, including landscaping, pedestrian lighting, and street furniture. There is currently no sidewalk or curb and gutter along West Railroad Avenue. This project will add 24" curb and gutter, a two foot grass landscape strip as well as a five foot sidewalk to the west side of Railroad Avenue and both sides of Church Street. Drainage structures, including pipe and flared end sections will be added to the shoulders. The travel lanes along both streets will remain the same as existing conditions. The shoulder width on Railroad Avenue will be increased from 3' to 10'-6", while the shoulder on Church Street will remain unchanged. Drainage improvements is also proposed along Church Street. The posted and design speed of both roads is 25 mph.
