The project addresses the shared challenge of increasing the interest in the intangible cultural heritage in the border regions of Vysočina, South Bohemia, Lower and Upper Austria and its potential for the expansion and attraction of cultural and adventure tourism in the border region. The project creates better conditions for the promotion and protection of folk culture (traditions, customs, ancient crafts, knowledge) in the border region as well as for making their presentation more attractive to the target group of visitors and residents of the border regions. The project activities contribute to improving the potential of folk culture as an advertising medium for the border regions and to distribute knowledge of the common history and lifestyles of the people in the border region, which have shaped the autonomy and uniqueness of the region. The folk culture itself is suitable to offer the visitors an experience. Together with the diverse offer of material cultural and natural heritage, this is an important precondition for the positive perception of the visited sites and for their further recommendation to third parties. The project is based on the cooperation of key actors in the field of popular culture and uses their potential for the development of cross-border and networked presentation of folk culture in the border region. It is only through this cooperation that the activities, which until now have been undertaken isolated in each region, can be joined, advertised together and presented to residents and visitors. The project results: 1 / permanently unlock the intangible cultural heritage of the border regions for the visitors and inhabitants of the border regions 2 / cooperation in terms of the cross-regional development of folk culture in the border region and its presentation in a Czech-Austrian context 3 / Development of a common offer of participants who cultivate the intangible cultural heritage and increase the potential of folk culture to help shape and enrich the tourist offer in the border region. The project will establish institutional and infrastructural cooperation in the field of cultural heritage in the Czech-Austrian region, which will be presented, promoted and properly managed jointly. The partners have a common goal, the preservation of traditions, customs, traditional crafts and folk art for future generations and their presentation to the general public.
