Description

Description

" The ""Folk Dialogues: India-EU Cultural Connect (FDIECC)"" module is an immersive exploration into the world of Folk Art, serving as a unique language expressing the cultural tapestry, historical nuances, and narratives of indigenous communities. Beyond artistic expression, Folk Art unveils the identity and stories of its people, a testament to diverse heritage preserved across generations. The project aims to explore Folk Art as a cultural bridge, drawing parallels between European and Indian Folk Art. Spanning 60 hours, the module offers an intellectual and experiential journey. Participants delve into the intricacies of European and Indian Folk Art, appreciating parallels in visual styles and thematic content. A Non-Fiction Documentary film introduces a dynamic visual narrative to complement scholarly exploration. The FDIECC project aims to uncover artistic resonances and shared human experiences. By treating Folk Art as a universal language, it fosters a deeper appreciation of interconnected cultures, celebrating diversity and cherishing cultural heritage globally. The module, offered to 80 Animation and Game Design undergraduates at WWI, spans two semesters with an additional 6 hours of annual masterclasses. It covers Folk Imagery from the European Union, transformation of lore(s), European Folk representation, drawing parallels between Indian and European Folk Art, Folk Art and Anthropology, traditional cultures in the EU, documentation and archiving of Folk Art, and sustainability practices."
