Description
Description | The European Social partners of the construction industry, FIEC and the EFBWW (European Federation of Building and Wood Workers) have established one of the first European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committees. Over the years, both organisations have continuously re-affirmed their long-term commitment to develop sustainable industrial relations. Within this framework the EFBWW and FIEC committed “to intensify their collaboration with a view to further strengthen industrial relations in the construction industry at EU-level” and to “strengthen and better coordinate joint research of the European social dimension of the construction industry”. Therefore, general objectives of this proposal are to: • continue reinforcing the capacity of national social partners to engage in social dialogue (especially in CEECs where social dialogue is underdeveloped); • strengthen involvement of social partners in EU policy making; • discuss the social and economic challenges which will determine the future construction labour market. This project implements the following specific objective of the Multiannual Action Programme for the Sectoral European social dialogue of the construction industry 2020-2023: • Strengthen, reinforce, and promote industrial relations in the construction industry at all levels. In line with the Statement of the Presidency of the Council, the European Commission, and the European social partners on “New start for social dialogue”, specific objects of the proposal are as follows: 1. Reinforce the currently still weak social dialogue in CEECs and the lack of communication between national partners in construction industry, thereby strengthening their cooperation. 2. Promote the European Social Dialogue at national level, while at the same time encourage national social partners, especially from the CEECs |
