Description | The National Infrastructure Fund Investment Support Project aims at addressing the issues that are affecting the fund’s investmentmobilization capacity, including asset-management, financial, and operational shortcomings. On the asset management side, theproject will support activities aimed at improving the revenues from the fund’s assets, thereby increasing the funding availablefor investment support. On the financial front, the project will enable the fund to mobilize private capital from new sources inthe international markets and optimize financial leverage by providing credit enhancement for a new debt issuance backed by asubset of FONADIN’s assets. On the operational front, the project will support the design and implementation of a new set ofinvestment, financial sustainability and sustainability criteria, new project management procedures, and new products aimed atimproving the return of the fund’s investments, maximizing the impact of limited public resources in attracting private finance andincreasing recoveries. The project’s concept contemplates multiple interventions to address the issues mentioned above groupedunder three different components: improving asset management and revenue generation, implementing a new infrastructure financesolution, and strengthening institutional capacity. |
