Application to call : ESF-2025-OG-NETW-NGO-SGA The European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) by reducing material deprivation, promoting social inclusion, and preventing food waste. As a network of 30 national Food Banking organizations in 30 European countries, FEBA and FEBA members ensure that surplus food is redistributed to those in need, aligning with the EU’s commitment to reducing poverty and supporting vulnerable populations. To achieve these goals, FEBA undertakes a range of activities. In terms of policy and advocacy FEBA promotes and advocates for policies and legislation to incentive and remove barriers to food donation, monitors and analyses developments in relevant EU policies, and works to improve members' awareness of and ability to engage and implement EU programs (i.e ESF+) at the national level. FEBA engages in capacity-building initiatives to strengthen its members, and data collection to assess the social and environmental impact of food redistribution. FEBA provides training, peer-to-peer exchanges, knowledge-sharing opportunities and organises online and in-person events to enhance the effectiveness, coordination and impact of FEBA members. Additionally, FEBA collaborates and mobilizes resources through cross-sectoral partnerships with a variety of stakeholders for the benefit of FEBA and FEBA members and to raise awareness of their activities in providing material support and promoting social inclusion across Europe. Through these efforts, FEBA and FEBA members support a network of 352 Food Banks and a further 44,000 charitable organizations, ensuring the distribution of over 855,000 tonnes of material support annually to 12.8 million people, including children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups.
