Description

Description

Core problem The supply of agricultural inputs to agricultural producers is insufficient to adequately increase agricultural productivity and thus sustainably improve food security. Module objective The module aims to sustainably improve the supply of agricultural producers with quantitatively sufficient, high-quality and affordable agricultural inputs. Key outputs - The Centrale dApprovisionnement en Intrants et Matériels Agricoles (CAIMA), which is responsible for the nationwide supply of agricultural producers with agricultural inputs, equipment and materials, sells quantitatively sufficient agricultural inputs. - The conditions for efficient, transparent and sustainable management of the CAIMA have been improved. - The conditions for carrying out adequate quality controls on input deliveries have been improved. Target group The direct target group of the module are all agricultural producers in Niger who buy fertilizers and animal feed imported through the CAIMA. The majority of these agricultural producers live in poverty. Indirectly, the entire Nigerien population benefits from the higher agricultural production and the associated improved food security in Niger (indirect target group). Contribution to the national implementation of Agenda 2030 The national development plan of Niger I3N (Initiative les Nigériens Nourrissent les Nigériens) relevant to the module aims to ensure the country's food supply and thus contributes in particular to the national implementation of the second goal of Agenda 2030 (Zero Hunger).
