The key objective of this proposal is to strengthen the activity of FEBA and its members, which contribute to reducing poverty and social exclusion through the redistribution of food in partnership with charitable organisations that assist the most deprived in Europe. The following specific objectives are planned: • To coordinate the FEBA network to fulfil the mission, fostering the dialogue as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices within the network, and reinforcing the leadership of national member organisations; • To raise awareness about the vision, mission, values, and activities of FEBA and its members, as regards the EPSR and related initiatives that are relevant with FEBA mission and contribute to EU policy initiatives with accurate data and evidence-based information. • To strengthen FEBA members enabling them to actively impact on food insecurity reduction and social inclusion through a differentiated range of capacity building activities, and supporting the sustainable development of the network; • To promote a cross-sectoral approach to foster a multi-stakeholder collaboration at EU, national, and local level; • To strengthen FEBA communication activities at all levels. These objectives are relevant to the call because they contribute to the EU headline target to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion by at least 15 million by 2030. In the EU FEBA plays a pivotal role because its members not only bring together 335 Food Banks, but they redistribute food to a network of 48,126 charitable organisations. Through its members FEBA has the potential to get in touch with over 12.8 million people (+50% in comparison with 2017) who experience severe material deprivation. FEBA activities contribute to the implementation of the EPSR and its Action Plan reducing poverty and inequalities and supporting the most deprived in Europe as well as addressing the green, digital, and demographic transitions.
