Description
Description | Ford has established the Electric Vehicle Design Center (EVDC) in Long Beach, California, as a separate campus free from Ford's traditional bureaucracy to develop its next generation of electric vehicles. The center houses teams for vehicle engineering, design, prototype production, field validation, software engineering, and manufacturing engineering under one roof to accelerate development and foster fast iteration. The EVDC aims to bring a software-first approach and 'China speed' to the U.S. EV manufacturing process, including the development of the Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform and a $30,000 midsize electric truck. |
