The FC measure aims to ensure that the Indonesian partners in Central Sulawesi develop and implement exemplary biodiversity protection and water catchment area measures within the framework of national strategies (FC module objective). This is intended to contribute to the implementation of forest protection and sustainable forest management strategies, thereby reducing climate-damaging emissions from the forestry sector and improving living conditions for the poor rural population (program objective). The activities aim to improve the management of the Lore Lindu National Park for the long-term preservation of tropical forests with globally significant biodiversity, sustainable land use in the buffer zone and the preservation and rehabilitation of priority water catchment areas. The target group is the local population who live around the national park and in the water catchment areas of the Palu and upper Lariang rivers and whose livelihoods depend primarily on the forest and other natural resources.
