Description

Description

The aim of the project is to achieve a model of sustainable management of mangrove forests in various regions of Indonesia with the involvement of the local population, while at the same time improving the living and income conditions of the predominantly poorer population. The knowledge gained should have a direct influence on national guidelines for mangrove management. An intervention in this area therefore contributes not only to the national priorities of the Indonesian government but also to the goal of the focus on environmental protection and thus also to the country strategy 2017 (The living conditions of the poor rural population in Indonesia have been sustainably improved through the protection of natural habitats and sustainable forest management. Avoiding deforestation and degradation of forests simultaneously improves the balance of greenhouse gas emissions).
