Fort Bliss Multi-Tiered Data Center

The U.S. Army and global investment firm Carlyle Group are negotiating to build a massive, multi-tiered data center on unused Army-owned land at Fort Bliss in Far East El Paso, Texas. The facility will be self-contained, generating its own electricity and using a net-neutral closed-loop water system to avoid straining local resources. It will provide dedicated computing power to the Army and operate as a hyperscale commercial data center for private clients. The project is in preliminary phases with ongoing negotiations and regulatory checks, aiming for initial operations by late 2027 and full capacity by 2029.
