Description
Description | The project involves demolishing two outdated barracks buildings at Fort Hood, Texas, and constructing a new facility to house 224 soldiers. The new barracks will be built to the Army's new 4-plus-2 standard, featuring four individual bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. The project addresses deficiencies in the old buildings such as unreliable air conditioning, lack of fire protection, and absence of kitchenettes and closets. It is the first barracks project in the Department of the Army to use a new congressional authority leveraging operation and maintenance funding for construction through a repair-by-replacement approach. |
