Description | This project includes planning and design of a 170 km transmission line that connects to the existing Taltson hydropower transmission system south of Hay River along the road north to Fort Providence. Initial design includes a 72 kilovolt line from Hay River to the road that leads to Kakisa, where a substation will be constructed to step the voltage down to two 25 kilovolts branches, one going west along the road to serve the community of Kakisa, and the other north along the road to serve the community of Fort Providence. The line that will service Fort Providence will pass through the Dory Point to serve that unincorporated area as well. |
