Description

Description

SeQF 2024-2026 is a 36-month project co-financed by Erasmus+, aimed at consolidating use of the EQF/SeQF in Sweden. The Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education is the NCP for the EQF and is responsible for the SeQF. The SeQF was established in 2009, and is instrumental in enhancing transparency of qualifications, including those awarded outside formal education. The project's primary focus is on governance and impact of the SeQF for both formal/non-formal qualifications. Levels for formal qualifications are government-decided, all other qualifications can be levelled to the SeQF through an application process. Sector industry organisations play a key role in developing qualifications in their sectors. They believe that the SeQF enhances their ability to ensure employees have the necessary skills and fosters an efficient skills system. The project emphasises supporting this development by showcasing the possibilities and added value of SeQF. The use of learning outcomes to create portability, flexible learning pathways and upskilling opportunities is key. Increasing awareness of EQF and SeQF is a key objective, particularly among providers of formal qualifications such as HEIs, HVE- and IVET-schools. The project involves extensive communication and targeted information dissemination to various key stakeholders. The project aims to facilitate collaboration and mutual learning with other NCPs at Nordic and European levels to promote the development of common issues. Long-term impact is to enhance skills provision and opportunities for lifelong learning. Main effects include increased knowledge and understanding of EQF/SeQF at different levels, the strengthening of links with validation, improved connections between working life and formal education, enhanced transferability of learning outcomes between education sectors, and greater value attributed to non-formal and informal learning in the labour market.
