Description | In July 2002, Aquamundo of Germany was awarded a 20-year contract for the construction and operation of a 100,000 cubic meter per day capacity wastewater treatment plant in Foshan city, Guangdong province. To implement the contract, Foshan Hua Zhi Yuan Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant Co. Ltd. was created as the project company in which Aquamundo's Austrian subsidiary Inframan took a 45% stake while the state-owned Foshan Waterworks Co. held the remainder. Aquamundo, in turn, was ultimately a subsidiary of AmiWater, the water management arm of the Saudi-owned Amiantit Group. Total project cost was US$30.4 million, financed with a debt equity ratio of 60/40. The project received loans from KfW (Germany's bilateral aid agency) and local Chinese banks. None None |
