Fostering LRC Implementation in the EHEA

The project TPG-LRC Plus – Fostering LRC implementation in the EHEA has the main aim of supporting the implementation of the Bologna Process focusing on the key commitment 2 on national legislation and procedures compliant with the Lisbon Recognition Convention (LRC) in the countries being part of the Thematic Peer Group B (TPG B). In line with the call for proposals ERASMUS-EDU-2024-EHEA-NARIC, the project supports actions to implement the work plan of the TPG B, aligning with priorities set out in the Tirana Communiqué, adopted in May 2024 at the Ministerial Conference of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The transnational cooperation supported by the project is fostered through a structured peer-to-peer approach, as already suggested indicated in the Paris and Rome Communiqués and deployed in the previous projects TPG-LRC and TPG-LRC CoRE. To achieve the general objective, the project focuses on the 6 specific thematic indications identified by the Bologna Follow-Up Group (BFUG) for the TPG B and reconfirmed for the mandate 2024-2027 (legal framework in compliance with the LRC, distribution of work and responsibilities among the competent institutions for the recognition process, automatic recognition, alternative pathways, qualifications held by refugees, digital technology for the recognition agenda). These priorities are also addressed in the Tirana Communiqué and included in the call for proposals, and in particular: (i) to contribute to make automatic recognition of qualifications and learning periods abroad a reality, (ii) to foster quality assurance and recognition of flexible learning pathways to support lifelong learning, (iii) to support transnational cooperation in higher education and recognition of qualification awarded by TNE institutions, (iv) to focus on digital transition on higher education, supporting recognition of qualifications.
