Description
Description | The Fountain Fuel HRS Works project consists of the construction and commissioning of three publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling stations for light-duty vehicles and long-haul heavy-duty vehicles within 10 km driving distance on the TEN-T Core Road Network in the Netherlands. This concerns the realization of the following stations: Amersfoort located on the North Sea – Baltic corridor, Nijmegen located on the Rhine – Alpine corridor and Rotterdam located on the North Sea – Baltic and North Sea – Mediterranean corridors. The project contributes to modernising the TEN-T network and takes into account the Union long-term decarbonisation commitments. In addition, the project contributes to achieving a more sustainable composition of the transport system to meet EU climate neutrality and zero pollution ambitions by 2050. Each station will supply hydrogen at pressures of 350 bar and 700 bar. The project is part of a larger Global Project of Fountain Fuel, with the aim of rolling out a covering network of 50 HRSs in the Netherlands by 2030. The project forms the first step of this Global project and will contribute to upgrading the involved core TEN-T road corridors by implementing a sustainable alternative fuel option to road freight (and passenger) transport that takes place on these corridors which will facilitate the required transition to zero-emission transport along the TEN-T road network. |
