Description

Mainbrace Constructions has commenced work on a $50 million redevelopment in Melbourne's south east that will transform an existing Bunnings Warehouse into a 14,300sqm large format retail centre. The redevelopment will repurpose and expand the former 11,000sqm Bunnings to create five large format retail tenancies including allied-health, gym, showroom retail, and enhanced dining and lifestyle offerings. The project includes a new corner pad site for a Grill'd restaurant with drive through and 425 carparking spaces including four EV charging bays. Sustainability features include retaining much of the existing structure to reduce embodied carbon by an estimated 50%, all-electric operation, battery storage integration, rainwater harvesting, high-efficiency heat pumps, maximised daylighting, and low-impact materials.
