Description | The Fountain Wind Project is a proposed wind farm in eastern Shasta County, California. The project involves the development of large wind energy systems, which has raised concerns about significant unavoidable impacts to wildlife species, including birds and bats, as well as tribal cultural and historical resources. The project does not conform to the Shasta County code, which prohibits large wind energy systems in unincorporated areas of the county. The California Energy Commission is scheduled to make a final decision on the project in late July 2025. |
