Description
Description | The European Students' Union (ESU) represents 44 national student unions from 40 European countries, promoting student interests in education policy. ESU conducts research, policy dialogues, and capacity building, focusing on topics like mobility, quality of education, and governance. Its Board and Executive Committee oversee its activities, with a dedicated Secretariat in Brussels supporting daily operations. ESU’s mission is to represent and protect students’ rights, promote equal educational opportunities, and help build an inclusive, sustainable Europe. It aligns with EU priorities by addressing digital and green transitions, enhancing education quality, and promoting student participation and international cooperation. ESU contributes to key initiatives like the European Education Area and the European Universities Alliances, while upholding EU values such as democracy and human rights. ESU manages projects, campaigns, policy engagement, and capacity-building activities. Progress is measured through indicators such as executive involvement, capacity development, and student union engagement. Tools like GANTT charts, management plans, and evaluation forms support effective grant tracking. The 2026–2027 multiannual action plan will advance student rights and strengthen the EHEA through strategic collaboration. ESU will remain active in the BFUG, co-chairing the Peer Group on Social Dimension, and contribute to CDEDU. It will engage student councils from European University Alliances, participate in ASEM and EU-level initiatives like the Erasmus+ Coalition and EESC Youth Test. Democratic events such as the European Student Convention and Board Meetings will support internal governance, alongside tools like the Solidarity Fund and the QA Student Experts Pool. ESU will further enhance outreach and institutional knowledge through its media work, database, and alumni network, promoting transparency, inclusion, and sustainability throughout its activities. |
