Description

Description

Youth information empowers young people to make informed decisions and participate actively in democratic life. In a digital and globalised world, building media and information literacy is more crucial than ever. ERYICA, the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency, is an independent NGO established in 1986 to promote high-quality youth information services across Europe. Guided by the European Youth Information Charter, its vision is a society where all young people have access to reliable, youth-friendly information that supports autonomy, well-being, and active citizenship. With 42 members in 26 countries, ERYICA connects over 4,000 local services, reaching more than 4 million face-to-face and 100 million online annually (2024 survey data). The agency aligns with EU strategies and participates in key programmes such as Erasmus+, ESC, and the European Green Deal. Its 2024–2029 strategy addresses digital citizenship, media literacy, youth participation, education, inclusion, mental health, climate justice, and support for vulnerable groups, including Ukrainian youth. ERYICA will invest in capacity-building, training, ethical standards, and innovation in youth information work, while promoting youth participation and conducting research. It will continue engaging with EU and international stakeholders and maintain its member-led, grassroots-driven approach. The agency’s 40th anniversary in 2026 will celebrate decades of empowering youth and advocating for their rights in a democratic and inclusive Europe.
