Framingham Geothermal Pilot Expansion

Eversource is seeking approval to expand its geothermal pilot program in Framingham, Massachusetts. The expansion includes adding 44 buildings, including single and multifamily homes and the Framingham Public Schools' welcome center, extending the geothermal network loop by 0.61 miles and doubling its capacity by 295 tons. The project aims to gather additional data on larger geothermal networks and study affordability benefits for customers, as well as to determine if networked geothermal systems can serve larger groups while reducing heating and cooling emissions.
