Description

The project involves the development, construction and operation of 2 solar PV plants in Minas Gerais, Brazil with a total capacity of 226.7MWp - 114.3 MWp Francisco Sa and 112.4 MWp Jaiba plants. The projects were awarded in Brazil's A-4 federal auction in April 2018. The produced energy will be sold to Brazilian Electric Power Commercialization Chamber (CCEE) under 20-year, inflation-adjusted PPAs awarded at a base price of BRL 118/MWh (approximately $29/MWh). Canadian Solar Inc. secured BRL 487 million ($117.4 million) in non-recourse project financing from Banco do Nordeste do Brasil SA (BNB) in August 2019.
