Franco-German ISL Railgun Outdoor Firing Test
Sector: Aerospace & Defense • Location: Europe
Source: Defense Express
The Franco-German ISL institute conducted the first outdoor firing test of its electromagnetic railgun at a new testing range. The railgun is designed to launch artillery shells over 200 km at speeds exceeding 2,000 m/s, with ambitions to serve as an advanced naval gun and future air defense system capable of countering hypersonic threats. This test marks the transition from laboratory experiments
