Description | The WA Government plans to convert the 22-storey Fraser Suites Perth hotel in East Perth into more than 200 affordable homes. The Department of Communities acquired the building for $105 million. The 236 short-stay serviced apartments will be turned into residential apartments, with ground-floor commercial spaces converted into cafe, health, and social services spaces. The project includes communal areas, a function room, co-working space, shared kitchen, lounge, laundry, and outdoor terraces. The pool will be converted to a sports play zone. The transition is expected to take around 12 months, with 70% of homes affordable for key workers or middle-income families and the rest social housing. |
