It is estimated to deliver up to USD 42.8 million in new revenue to the local community. The project was approved by the Ohio Power Siting Board (OPSB) in July 2025 with a list of 62 conditions. However, an appeal has been lodged by Preserve Knox County LLC against the approval, citing concerns about adverse visual impacts, displacement of crop production on valuable farmland, and potential flooding and drainage problems on surrounding properties.
