Description | Kiewit provided full project services from inception through completion for the 615,000 SF Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. This included preconstruction services, planning, abatement, demolition, phased construction, and fit-out for the new cutting-edge cancer research and science facility, which includes a 10-story research tower, and an eight-story clinical tower. The state-of-the-art research tower features 98 research laboratories, 215 offices and a vivarium. The clinical tower houses two magnetic resonance imaging bays, two computerized tomography rooms, three linear accelerators, 32 infusion rooms, six operating rooms, 35 exam rooms, and 108 inpatient rooms. This composition of programming spaces led the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center to become the first and only National Cancer Institute designated cancer center in Nebraska. |
