FRH-UNITE will raise awareness and advocate for the safeguarding of Europe’s largest repository of cultural, artistic, and historic heritage, more than half a million religious heritage sites, and maximise and recognise the sector’s impact to culture, tourism, international cooperation, and its contribution in tackling the climate crisis, building strong communities and liveable places. FRH-UNITE enables further development and growth of FRH, the EU’s only non-faith, non-for-profit, international network in the field of religious heritage and ensures that the voice of the sector is adequately represented at EU and international levels. FRH-UNITE activities include active participation in numerous European and international forums, platforms, alliances, and partnerships, as well as conducting educational and training workshops, webinars, and conferences to support our members and the sector dealing with current and future challenges in innovative ways. A wide range of communication and advocacy activities will reach European citizens of all ages via cross-sectoral approaches, raising the visibility of key innovators in the field via the ‘religious heritage innovator of the year’ award, and assisting the network’s members in developing advocacy campaigns on national and local level. Outputs will include 2 high-level conferences, a digital mapping platform for information-sharing, a European religious heritage database, covering sustainability data, 6 Masterclass trainings, 9 FRH Talks videos, 9 face to face members meetings, a Europe-wide survey, and awareness-raising campaigns such as the 3 ‘bike for heritage’ campaigns and 3 photo and video competitions. FRH-UNITE’s capacity building, critical information sharing, awareness raising and advocacy activities will benefit not only organisations and institutions working directly to safeguard religious heritage but also policymakers, public authorities, religious institutions, local-level volunteers, and civil society.
