Description
Description | The project aims to create awareness and enhance the resilience of migrant communities on Gender Based Violence Against Women (GBVAW), and to build personal and collective agency against GBVAW within the migrant communities in Cyprus, Greece and Spain. RAISE brings together 3 organizations with extensive expertise on GBVAW and 3 migrant led organizations. The beneficiaries were selected due to their common challenges and needs in relation to the GBVAW. The primary target group consists of migrant women and men aged 18 – 40, mainly from Sub-Saharan Africa, the MENA Region, Asia and South America (Spain). The secondary target group includes: community leaders local/public authorities, migrant-focused CSOs, front line professionals working with migrant communities, relevant stakeholders and the general public. The objectives of the project are: • To map the intersectional experiences and needs of migrant women on GBV violence in intimate and domestic relationships in migrants’ contexts through qualitative and quantitative research in all partner countries. This will be achieved through 15 focus groups, 42 interviews with professionals working on GBV, and through 1.100 questionnaires. (M2 – M12) • To enhance the knowledge and capacity of migrant women (156) and men (110) through capacity building workshops on GBV in migrant communities, enabling them to build resilience and stand up against gender-based violence. (M10 – M24) • To empower migrant women and foster individual and collective agency to stand against GBV violence. This will be achieved by establishing 3 empowerment groups consisting of at least 10 women in each group in all partner countries. (M13 – M24) • To raise awareness among migrant women, men, male community leaders, relevant stakeholders and the general public on gender-based violence in migrant communities, by reaching 250,000 people through targeted events, dissemination activities, an e - platform and a social media campaign (M3 - M24) |
