Description
Description | "As a publisher of children's literature, we at Marmot books strongly believe that children should grow up with a variety of stories, authors, genres, and culture. This diversity is a key to children personal growth and their feeling of belonging to a larger community beyond family, environment and country. The project “From Europe with care: Bulgarian children meet European authors” aims to connect Bulgarian children to European authors, illustrators and their books. Our objective is to translate, publish and promote 9 books from various genres that come from different European countries and address four different age groups 4+ years, 6-8 years, 7-10 years, 11+ years of age. Different target groups will be reached with different promotional activities and advertising campaign. Our brand strategy is that “every book has a story that needs to be told"". That is why every book we publish always gets equal attention, care and promotion. Additional exposure on authors, illustrators and translators is also part of the communication strategy. The books in the project deal with important topics, have strong messages and are bold in terms of text and illustration. They promote equality, authenticity, care, acceptance of oneself and the others, strength and love. The authors know well how to speak to children. They use humor and great illustrations, and this is key approach if we want children to choose books instead of screen time. Our objective is to print 2000 copies of each book and therefore ensure bigger and better visibility of the titles in the project. Average circulation for children’s books in Bulgaria is 800 copies. The project is set to be developed for 24 months. The project will add to the cultural variety of literary works Bulgarian children are exposed to and thus strengthen the transnational circulation and diversity of European literary works." |
