Description

Description

Our school, The Nest, is beautifully located in the Beskydy Mountains. While we love learning in this inspiring environment, we recognize that our location can sometimes feel distant from the events and opportunities within the European Union. However, with a closer look, we see signs of EU support all around us—funding local projects, enabling mobility, and shaping policies that impact our daily lives. We hear about people traveling, studying, and working across Europe, and we want to explore what the EU means for us—both now, as primary school students, and in the future, as we pursue further education and career opportunities. Through the From Our Nest to Europe project, we aim to instill a sense of pride in being EU citizens and to help our students appreciate the opportunities and achievements that come with EU membership. Our goal is to nurture a generation of engaged young Europeans who see European cooperation, mobility, and sustainability as integral to their lives and choices. A key focus of our initiative is the EU Green Deal and environmental sustainability, recognizing these issues as crucial for our students' futures. By raising awareness and encouraging responsible decision-making, we hope to empower them to contribute positively to the EU’s sustainability efforts and embrace environmentally conscious, socially responsible lifestyles. Throughout the 3-year project, students will explore various aspects of the EU using innovative and engaging learning methods. Our structured approach includes an Adaptation Week at the beginning of each year, followed by Educational Trips, Project Weeks, Conferences, and Artistic & Creative Workshops. During our Adaptation Week and Workshops, we will collaborate with the local organization PetrklicHelp, which specializes in innovative learning approaches for young people. Their expertise in digital tools and modern teaching methodologies will enhance our project by providing engaging and effective ways to explore EU.
