Description | The project aims to: Reduce the instances of asset failure and service disruptions Address potential risks and liability issues that impact the safety of staff and public in the facility Improve the quality of the ice at the arena while improving the facilities to benefit the patrons Reduce annual operating and maintenance costs Increase accessibility for spectators and patrons The Frontenac Community Arena (FCA) will continue to support families/youth through major capital upgrades. These critical upgrades are required to maintain ice and provide an accessible health/wellness space for our community to gather, play hockey and learn to skate. Remove and replace: condenser unit, mains/headers, heat exchanger/chiller, brine pump, concrete slab, brine lines, boards/glass, benches, timekeeper box. Install accessible rubber matting and create accessible viewing area. The FCA will continue to serve residents of Central Frontenac, South Frontenac Townships, and surrounding area. Postal code data indicates that residents from over 35 different communities representing 12 different Townships participate in activities at the FCA. Over 1700 hours of ice booked a season Arena employs 15 seasonal employees Over 600 Children, Youth and Adults on our Minor and Adult League Teams Over 4000 residents participate in Public Skating/season Over 3000 residents attend events |
