Frulact South Africa is a South African company owned by the Portuguese Frulact Group and a local partner. Its main activity is the production and commercialization of fruit preparations. The establishment of Frulact South Africa marked the internationalization of the Frulact Group in the Southern Africa region. The investment project presented to SOFID consisted of the installation of a modern fruit preparation factory, through the restructuring of a large part of the local partner's industrial facilities, as well as the acquisition of state-of-the-art industrial equipment. This allowed for the improvement of technological standards and food safety in the market. The project had positive impacts on the country's trade balance and contributed to knowledge and skills transfer through specialized training provided by the Frulact Group in South Africa and its training center in Portugal. SOFID supported this project by financing the Portuguese company for supplies to its South African subsidiary.
