Description

Description

The project involves the redevelopment of two water networks in Balqa Governate - Fuheis and Mahis, Jordan. The initiative aims to enhance water supply efficiency and ensure a reliable water distribution system. This includes the design, build, finance, and maintenance (DBFM) of the water networks, replacing traditional subscription meters with smart meters, and rehabilitating the existing water supply networks to reduce water loss and effectively improve the lives of 50000 people. The project has been awarded to Miahona, an Emirati water company, under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract with Jordan's Ministry of Water and Irrigation. The total funding for the project is $22.3 million. This funding includes contributions from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which part-funds the project, alongside private investment from Miahona. The financial closure for the project was achieved in May 2024. https://www.jordannews.jo/Section-109/News/Agreement-signed-to-enhance-water-supply-systems-in-Fuheis-Mahis-35783 ; https://menafn.com/1108233963/Agreement-Signed-To-Enhance-Water-Supply-Systems-In-Fuheis-Mahis
