Description

On 26 January 2011, a local private company, South Water Co., Ltd. was formally granted a 30 year agreement to build and operate a wastewater treatment plant in Longmen Town, Anxi County, Fujian Province. The agreement was procured on a competitive basis. Three private developers including South Water were short listed on 30 December 2010. The bidding results were publically disclosed in January 2011. The short term capacity of the facility is 25,000 cubic meters per day (which is further divided into two phases, with the first phase of a capacity of 12,500 cubic meters per day) and the long term capacity is 50,000 cubic meters per day. A project company, Anxi South Water Co., Ltd. was registered on 10 May 2011 to conduct the project and it planned to finish the project by the end of 2011. By August 2011, 6.6km long associated distribution network has been completed and it was expected that the project could be completed on time. The project company started to recruit operation workers from April 2011. The total investment on the project is still unknown. South Water has a 100% stake in the project. According to an official document in Oct 2011, the construction of the project had been progressing very fast.
