Description
Description | Wärtsilä will deliver the largest DC-coupled hybrid battery system in the National Electricity Market (NEM) for Octopus Australia’s Fulham Solar Battery Hybrid project. The battery system will have a capacity of 64MW/128MWh and is designed to power up to 120,000 homes and businesses. The project integrates solar generation with battery storage through a DC/DC converter to minimize energy losses and improve system efficiency and grid stability. It has secured Generator Performance Standards approval and is supported by a 20-year service agreement. Wärtsilä’s GEMS optimisation software will manage the integration of the energy storage and solar assets with the grid. The project is expected to be operational in 2028 and will contribute to Australia’s net-zero by 2045 target. |
