Description
Description | The overall objective of the proposal is to enhance awareness about the application of the EU Charter in strategic litigation related to the fundamental rights of the Roma, and to increase their access to justice in the Czech Republic and Romania by building the capacity of CSOs and legal practitioners by fostering cooperation among them. The beneficiaries are 80 Roma-led and pro Roma CSOs and legal practitioners, and 20,000 Roma community members. Results will be achieved through training and manuals, a study visit to the Court of Justice of the EU, mentorships, a strategic litigation guide, an online legal database summarising legal cases related to the fundamental rights of the Roma, awareness raising for Roma about their fundamental rights and the available legal remedies, and a closing conference. The proposal seeks to increase awareness about the European Charter of Fundamental Rights and strengthen cooperation among CSOs, legal practitioners, and independent HR bodies regarding the use of strategic litigation related to the fundamental rights of the Roma. Key deliverables: 2 training manuals, 4 trainings, 1 visit to the CJEU, 20 mentoring sessions for CSOs, 1 strategic litigation guide, 2 online legal databases, 6 awareness raising materials, and 1 final conference. In summary, the proposal aligns with Topic 3 of the Call by actively contributing to a more coherent implementation and application of EU law and to the enforcement of the fundamental rights of the Roma. Through targeted activities, it strives to increase EU Charter awareness and access to justice of Roma in Romania and the Czech Republic by empowering CSOs and legal practitioners through targeted training, mentoring, legal sources and collaboration. |
