In this proposed project Statistics Netherlands will execute the following tasks. As first subproject we will compile, check and validate the data and corresponding metadata as required for the statistics on Cities and Functional Urban Areas for reference years 2023, 2024 and 2025. These activities are related to Activity 1 as stated in the Call. Secondly we will develop of a framework for a gene

Description
Description | In this proposed project Statistics Netherlands will execute the following tasks. As first subproject we will compile, check and validate the data and corresponding metadata as required for the statistics on Cities and Functional Urban Areas for reference years 2023, 2024 and 2025. These activities are related to Activity 1 as stated in the Call. Secondly we will develop of a framework for a generalized spatial statistical database in which we can project a variety of spatial datasets. This work is related to Activity 3 (and 2). Thirdly we want to expand the visual web application Cijfers op de Kaart (Figures on the Map) by including statistics for different types of grid cells. Statistics by grid cell have the important advantage that grid cells are not subject to boundary changes, making it easy to compare these figures over time. This subproject is related to Activity 3 and 4. Fourth we will investigate, improve, develop and test novel methods and new data sources to enable the production of statistics on land ownership, and more specifically how we can use this information for the ecosystem accounting. This work is also related to Activity 3 (and 1). In the fifth subproject we intend to assess the suitability and quality of publicly available geographical data sources for use in subnational statistical production. Combining these external sources with other data available within our organizations will hopefully result in new sub-national statistics, which in turn will enable us to answer various policy related research questions. This work is related to Activity 3. Lastly we want to develop multi modal cross border statistics. We feel that with open source data sources, the computing power of our infrastructure and the methods we developed earlier we now are able to produce such statistics. We also want to improve our multi-modal proximity statistics with data for more than one starting moment. This subproject is related to Activity 3 and 5. |
