Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings signed 20 year contracts in 1997 with the municipal government in Fushun City, Liaoning province for the operation and maintenance of cogeneration plants and two water facilities. Cheung Kong will invest a total of US$78.3 million for a 69% stake in the joint venture. The remaining stake is held by the city of Fushun. The cogeneration plants have a combined capacity of 150MW of electricity. The plants supply electricity in addition to heat in the form of high and low pressure steam. When the joint venture took over the operation of the water facilities, the plants had a combined capacity of 300,000 tonnes/day and was to be upgraded to 400,000 tonnes/day. CKI invested approximately RMB450 million in the power plants and RMB200 million in the water facilities. None None
