Future is Youth

“There is more in you than you think.” This has been the guiding motto of Élményakadémia (EA) since its founding in 2005 by 12 young volunteers who believed in the transformative power of non-formal education. Over the past 19 years, we have grown into a dynamic Hungarian NGO and the coordinator of the Future is YOuth (FiY) network, spanning 26 partner organizations in 16 EU countries, united by a mission to empower marginalized youth and improve the quality of youth work across Europe. We focus on engaging, connecting, and empowering young people—particularly those at risk of exclusion, such as youth in foster care, Roma communities, and rural areas. Through experiential education, international youth mobility, and grassroots initiatives, we support personal development, social integration, and democratic participation. We help young people build resilience, critical skills, and a sense of agency, enabling them to take charge of their lives and communities. In line with the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027, our work contributes to the Erasmus+ priorities of inclusion and diversity, youth participation in democratic life, and the development of quality youth work. We promote dialogue between youth, stakeholders, and policymakers through local forums, policy recommendations, and participation in SNACs and the EU Youth Dialogue. We also strengthen the capacity of youth workers and educators with innovative training, safeguarding tools, and mental health resources, ensuring inclusive and high-quality support for young people. Our vision is a Europe where every young person is inspired to realize their full potential, feel a sense of belonging, and take part in shaping a more equitable, democratic society.
