Founded in 1921, FV S.A. (“FV” or the “Company”) is a second-tier family-owned and managed company and Argentina's leading producer of brass and metal fixtures for baths and kitchens. FV is well known to IFC, in 1998 IFC approved a $16 million financial package to FV, in 1999 IFC committed a $9 million financing package to FV Ecuacobre, and more recently in 2008, IFC committed another project with FV for up to $20.0 million. FV will embark in an investment program of about $20 million for the next two to three years, that would mainly comprise: (i) permanent working capital to maintain a well supplied wide portfolio of products to attend an exigent demand on a timely basis; (ii) improve operational efficiencies, including savings on a better use of energy resources; and (iii) completion of the environmental upgrades suggested by the IFC’s action plan.
