Description

Description

The mainland dock facility is located in Meridian, GA, about 8 miles north of Darien, GA. Dock facilities and vessels are maintained by the GA DNR. Renovations to dock facilities will culminate in complete replacement of docks, floats, and pilings. The Meridian Dock renovation consists of removal of existing docks and the installation of a new floating dock, an 80’ access ramp and several small boat docks to replace existing dockage. The bulkhead will also be replaced along the east and north sides of the upland parking area. The Marsh Landing renovation consists of complete removal of existing docks and replacement with all concrete pilings/decks. The new access ramp will be ~80’ long and a new covered pavilion will be constructed on the fixed deck to provide weather refuge for passengers preparing to board. Modifications to the parking area will also be made to accommodate ADA parking/access and to match the height of the new docks.
