The project involves the construction of the G1816 Wuhai-Maqin Expressway Cooperation to Saierlong (Ganqingjie) section, located in Gannan Prefecture, Gansu Province, China. The two-way four-lane expressway has a total length of 102.767 km and a total length of bridges and tunnels of 53.217 km. The design speed of the highway is 100 km/h. The starting point is located at Henan Interchange in Hehe City, in Luqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and the end point is in Saierlong (Ganqingjie). The project has been awarded by the Gansu Provincial Government under a 44-year "BOT" and "construction general contracting" mode, including the construction and the operation periods. The sponsor is CCCC First Public Bureau Group Consortium, following a competitive bidding process held between January 30, 2022 and February 8, 2022. The total investment value of the project is $2496.11 million (16.959 billion yuan).
