Description | US solar and battery technology company T1 Energy Inc has selected Yates Construction to provide preconstruction services and site preparations for its planned 5-GW solar cell facility, called G2_Austin, in Texas. The USD 850 million project is enabled by tariffs and policies supporting American manufacturing and energy dominance. The plant is expected to begin production by the end of 2026, creating up to 1,800 full-time jobs. Milam County commissioners have approved a long-term tax abatement package, subject to employment and investment thresholds. The project is part of T1 Energy's strategy to build a domestic solar and battery supply chain and will add to the company's operational G1_Dallas 5 GW solar module facility. |
