Description
Description | Updating of urban storm water drainage infrastructure development studies in Gue-Gue Lowe-IAI and Terre Nouvelle Basin in Libreville is in line with the objectives of the Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (GPRSP), the Urban Development Strategy and the Country Strategy Paper (CSP). This study is justified in view of i) the precarious state of sanitation in Libreville in general and in the three catchment areas concerned in particular and ii) the need to have up-to-date studies for carrying out development work in the three catchment areas. It will thus contribute to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG-2015) and the African Water Vision (AWV) for 2025. As the study will lead to the updating of the documents required for the development of the Gué-Gué, Lowé-IAI and Terre Nouvelle basins, its effectiveness is closely linked to the performance of the UCE and CIPA, given the importance of the participation and involvement of the administrations working in the sanitation sector and other stakeholders for its success. Thanks to this project, the government will have the documents it needs to mobilise the funds required to implement infrastructure investments: feasibility study reports, detailed designs and tender documents. It comprises the following components: (i) updating of studies, (ii) capacity building for stakeholders and (iii) project management. |
