Description | Gulf Agency Company Ltd. (GAC) is a global provider of shipping, logistics, marine and related services. Headquartered in Dubai, it has 300 offices around the globe and almost 9,000 employees. GAC’s existing client list includes some of the world’s top performing companies. In 2008, the Middle East accounted for 56.2% of GAC’s operating income, Europe/Africa 24.7%, Asia 11.9%, the Indian Sub-Continent 4.6% and the Americas 2.6%. The proposed transaction is an A loan of US$35 million to assist with GAC’s growth planning with about half of this amount to be used for the purchase of three second-hand Anchor Handling Towing Supply Vessels (“AHTS”). The vessels would initially be placed on 3-year charters to support oil field activities in the Kazakhstan portion of the Caspian Sea. The balance would be used to buy additional vessels. |
